How do I get started?

Short answerNo account is needed. Answer the three safety questions in Settings, tap Going to sleep at bedtime, and capture your morning when you wake.

No account needed

DreamGate has no account and no sign-in. Open the app and start. The core app is free. Everything you put in is stored, encrypted, on your phone. DreamGate is for adults aged 18 and over.

The four tabs

Answer the safety questions

Before night cues or the night glow can be used, the app asks three short questions about seizures, sleep paralysis and feeling disconnected. Any answer other than "no", including "not sure", keeps night cues and the night glow off. Ambient sound always stays available. You can review your answers at any time in Settings → Safety questions.

The Wellness and Medical Disclaimer explains who should talk to a doctor before using the night features.

Your first night and morning

  1. At bedtime, open Night and tap Going to sleep. The app switches to red night mode.
  2. When you wake, tap I'm up, then capture your morning: a dream, a to-do list, or whatever is on your mind. A blank morning counts too. Add the hours you slept and a 1–5 clarity rating as you save: that's your morning check-in.
  3. Night cues stay off at first. They need at least one morning check-in in the past week, among other rules. Night features, and why cues are off explains them.

Rest comes first

DreamGate is a wellness and self-exploration tool, not medical care. Skip the night practices whenever you're short on sleep, and stop any feature that leaves you more tired or anxious.
