Up in the night?

How do I stop the sound?Tap Stop sound on the Night tab. Sound also stops on its own. Why is everything red?Night mode is red on black, to keep the screen dim at night. I can't get back to sleepRest first. Ambient sound fades out within 30 minutes.

Getting started

Do I need an account?No. Open the app and start. There's no sign-in. Is DreamGate free?The core app is free. What are the four tabs for?Morning, Night, History and Settings, in a sentence each. What are the safety questions for?They decide whether night cues and the glow can be used.

Nights and sound

Why won't a night cue play?A rest check keeps cues off when you need rest, and says why. When does the night glow work?Only with night sound playing, and never with Reduce Motion on. How does red night mode work?Pure red on true black. No colour on screen has green or blue. Which themes are there?System, Sun-based or Red, in Settings.

Mornings

How do I capture a morning?Hold anywhere on the Morning tab, then speak or type. Why is voice capture off?Check permissions and on-device speech for your language. Is my voice recorded?No. Only the text you choose to save is kept.

Your data and backups

How do I make a backup?Settings, then Your data, then Export encrypted backup. I forgot my backup passphraseNobody can open that backup without it, including us. How do I move to a new phone?Export a backup on the old phone, restore it on the new one. How do I delete everything?Settings, then Your data, then Delete all data. What does DreamGate know about me?We never receive your entries. They're encrypted on your phone.

Safety and wellness

Is DreamGate medical care?No. It's a wellness and self-exploration tool. Who shouldn't use the night features?The Disclaimer lists them. Talk to a doctor first if any apply. When should I skip the night practices?Whenever you're short on sleep. Rest comes first.

Troubleshooting
