1Our commitment#

1.1 DreamGate is meant to be used half-asleep, in the dark, with one hand. Designing for that also means designing for people with low vision, light sensitivity, limited dexterity or a screen reader. We treat accessibility as part of safety, not an extra.

1.2 This statement covers the website at dreamgate.one and the DreamGate app. It describes them as built at the date above.

2Standards we aim for#

2.1 Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, for the website and, where the guidelines apply, for the app.

2.2 We go further on contrast. In the light and dark themes, body and secondary text are designed to reach at least 7:1 against the background (WCAG's enhanced level, AAA).

3What we've built in#

Table 1 · Accessibility features
AreaWebsiteApp
ContrastText at least 7:1 in light and dark; accent and button labels at least 4.5:1The same targets, enforced by automated tests on every colour token
Red night modePure red on black at about 5.25:1 (AA). Hierarchy comes from size and weight, never dimmer redsThe same
FlashingNothing flashesThe same: nothing flashes or pulses
MotionRespects "reduce motion": decorative animations and transitions are turned offRespects Reduce Motion: cards snap instead of sliding, and the launch logo appears without a fade

InputStandard links, buttons and form fieldsTyping is always available; voice capture is optional
TargetsButtons and controls at least 44 px tallControls sized to at least 44 pt
NavigationA "skip to content" link, landmarks, one heading outline per pageStandard platform navigation and system alerts
Text sizeUses your browser's text settings and system fontsText follows the phone's font size setting
Legal pagesA contents list that works without JavaScript, a print layout, and red night mode—

4How we check#

  • Automated: contrast tests for every colour token in all three themes, and a scan confirming that red mode contains no green or blue light.
  • Manual: keyboard-only use of the website, checks at phone and desktop widths, reduced-motion checks, and browser accessibility-tree reviews.
  • Not yet done: full testing with VoiceOver (iPhone) and TalkBack (Android) on real devices. This is scheduled with our first device builds.

5Known limitations#

  • Red night mode can't reach AAA contrast. Pure red on black tops out at about 5.25:1. That meets AA, and we use larger, heavier text there to help. If you find it hard to read, use the dark theme instead.
  • Screen readers on phones are untested. The app has screen-reader labels and actions, but they haven't yet been checked on real devices with VoiceOver or TalkBack.
  • Voice capture depends on your phone's on-device speech recognition for your language. Where it isn't available, voice stays off and you can type.
  • The browser preview of the app is a private test build. It has no voice capture.

6Tell us about a problem#

If something in DreamGate is hard to use, or you need information in another format, email hello@dreamgate.one with "Accessibility" in the subject. Tell us what you were trying to do, the device and what assistive technology you use, if any. We'll reply as soon as we can, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs.
